Rolex Daytona "Patrizzi", ref. 16520 W3 series– sold in December 1995 from an EU retailer. A beautiful example of the discontinued and highly sought-after Rolex Daytona ref. 16520, fitted with the legendary Rolex-modified Zenith El Primero movement. This particular watch features the rare and collectible black “Patrizzi” tritium dial with matching hands. The “Patrizzi” designation refers to dials where the originally white chronograph subdials have aged into a warm beige or brown tone due to a natural oxidation process that occurred on certain dials produced in the mid-1990s. This effect is most commonly found, and accepted, on watches with serial numbers beginning with W, S, and T. A key detail on this example is that the white gold rings surrounding the subdials remain clean and intact – a strong indicator that the dial is original and untouched. The watch is fitted with a 78390 Oyster bracelet with 503B end links. The clasp is stamped W5, corresponding to the production year. Delivered with boxes, certificate, certificate holder, and booklet.
