Rolex Datejust “Wide Boy”, ref. 1603, 254xxxx serial from circa 1970. The watch was serviced by our watchmaker in September 2026. An interesting vintage Datejust featuring the sought after “Wide Boy” dial, characterized by its noticeably wider hour markers and matching broad hands. This gives the watch a more distinctive appearance than the traditional Datejust and has made the Wide Boy configuration popular among collectors of vintage Rolex. The classic 36mm Oyster case is crafted in stainless steel and combined with the characteristic fluted stainless steel bezel associated with ref. 1603. The dial features a date display at 3 o’clock with Cyclops magnification. The watch is fitted with a Jubilee bracelet showing some stretch consistent with age and use. Inside is the automatic Rolex Calibre 1570, part of one of Rolex’s most respected vintage movement families. The model features an acrylic crystal and the classic non quickset date mechanism, requiring the hands to be advanced through midnight to change the date. The watch is in overall fine vintage condition with age-related signs of wear and usage. This classic Datejust only comes with 2026 service.
