Patek Philippe Aquanaut "Jumbo" ref. 5065A-001, originally sold in June 2005. An early and sought-after generation of the Aquanaut, a collection introduced by Patek Philippe in 1997 as a more casual and sporty alternative to the Nautilus. Ref. 5065 continued the distinctive rounded octagonal design and combined it with the embossed dial and Tropical strap that have since become defining elements of the Aquanaut collection. The watch is crafted in stainless steel and measures approximately 38mm. The black embossed dial features Arabic numerals, central hands and a date display at 3 o’clock. Its integrated Tropical strap continues the distinctive pattern of the dial and is fitted with a Patek Philippe steel folding clasp. A sapphire crystal caseback provides a view of the movement. Inside is the automatic Patek Philippe Calibre 315 SC, a classic movement associated with this generation of the Aquanaut. The combination of its relatively compact case, early Aquanaut design and Calibre 315 SC gives ref. 5065 a distinctive character from the era preceding the later 5167 generation.
